Annual statistics for 2016 are now due to be submitted to the American Academy of Underwater Sciences. If you have not already done so, please make sure to enter your dive logs for 2016 into the Safety Stop website (divelogs.marine.calpoly.edu) by January 31st.
Registration is now open for the 2016 AAUS Scientific Diving Symposium, hosted by The University of Rhode Island, Narragansett Bay campus from September 20-24th. We welcome diving scientists, students, diving safety officers and anyone with an interest in diving science to participate in this event.

The event will be held at the PG&E Community Center in Avila Beach, CA. The conference fee is $10 and includes lunch. See you there!

Last week we had a great time diving off of Cal Poly's new boat (see below pics). We are going out again this Friday and would love to get more of you in the water. We'll begin the day pre-dawn, and be done by 5pm at the latest. Costumes on the boat not required but encouraged - hehehe!
The 2014 AAUS Symposium will be hosted by University of Alaska, Fairbanks and will be held September 9-13, 2014 in Sitka, AK. The week will be filled with workshops ranging from PSI and DAN courses to Abalone and kelp stones and a DUI demo day. There will be opportunities for both shore and boat diving as well as social and networking events.
Cal Poly's first ever Scientific Diving Course will be offered this August. Learn advanced diving and underwater data collection techniques through theoretical and practical training.
